Hi!
When building mame-0.144 (previous versions had the same
problem) on Debian Squeeze (armel) I get a lot of this
warnings:
warning: cast from ‘UINT8*’ to ‘UINT64*’
increases required alignment of target type
warning: cast from ‘UINT8*’ to ‘UINT32*’
increases required alignment of target type
Most games die after pressing ok with a segfault. I think,
this is because of the above warnings.

Hallo Thomas
I saw your mail while randomly browsing the pkg-games-devel list.
Actually most talks in the Debian Games area happen on
debian-devel-games so it is better to reach us there, or via the BTS if
something goes wrong.
There is right now an active effort in Mame to work properly on arm(el?)
See this thread:
http://forums.bannister.org/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=74702#Post74702
It would be nice if you could build the mame package with DEBUG=1 \ in
debian/rules and submit your finding to the SDL Mame forums when mame
segfaults
