I wouldn't. The work's done, it'll surely be applied for the next release,
so why bother removing it?

FWIW, I have no problems with typo patches, as long as they always get
forwarded. That said, lintian is not our priest, and making it stop
printing idiocies (some of them are!) isn't our ultimate goal. In the
above case, having just one huge -common package for all architectures is
a good gain. I have other packages with 3MB or so of data and lintian nags
me about creating a -common. Blah!
