Package: openarena-server
Version: 0.8.5-5+squeeze1
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

the openarena server crashes inconstantly with the following error
message.

----- Server Shutdown (Signal caught) -----
Sending heartbeat to dpmaster.deathmask.net
Sending heartbeat to dpmaster.deathmask.net
==== ShutdownGame ====
ShutdownGame:
------------------------------------------------------------
AAS shutdown.
----- Server Shutdown (Server fatal crashed: VM_Free(qagame) on
running vm) -----
Sending heartbeat to dpmaster.deathmask.net
Sending heartbeat to dpmaster.deathmask.net
==== ShutdownGame ====
ShutdownGame:
recursive error after: VM_Free(qagame) on running vm

I have attached all crash logfiles and my server config. It seems this error
only occurs if bots or bots and human players are playing on the
server but never with humans alone.

Sometimes the server is running fine for five days in a row before a
crash occurs and sometimes the crash intervals are much shorter.

I couldn't find any hints how to circumvent this problem although the
error message is not unknown. Disabling certain maps didn't help. The
crashs happened on oa_dm1, oa_dm7, aggressor and czest1dm.

I don't use any modifications and a quite simple deathmatch setup.

Kind regards
Markus Koschany
