If you read again, I said I didn't see a reason to remove this. What's
wrong about these files? The cost us nothing, and are a great way of
seeing all available options and their default values. Can't see what's
the problem with them.

I'm ok with that, but if this is going to be decided, we should ask
ftpmasters to reject 0.147 currently sitting in NEW, to avoid them doing
extra work.

There are a few lintian warnings wrt to manpage spelling mistakes. Have
you by chance looked at those?
