i totally agree on that. But i could only produce the bug with openarena.

Yes it did but at some point it became difficult to test.

a quick diff showed :

  ...loaded 1409 faces, 44 meshes, 0 trisurfs, 28 flares
  WARNING: reused image textures/flares/flarey.tga with mixed glWrapClampMode parm
  WARNING: reused image textures/flares/lava.tga with mixed glWrapClampMode parm

but i'm really not sure it means something.
