I have seen this issue before but have never been able to figure out
what causes it. Since it doesn't manifest on every machine this is not a
release-critical bug.

Could you attach this file to the bug (send a new mail with attachment)?

/var/log/Xorg.0.log

and paste the output of this command in your followup:
