We've seen similar issues upstream when resizing smaller windows into
larger ones in the past, see

At the time it seemed like this only happened in certain WM/DEs though,
Could you please tell us which tiling WM you are running (and whether the
bug is reproducible out of the box or if additional configuration or steps
are required)? Also, could you check if the issue persists if you turn off 
opengl rendering (Options->Advanced Options->Opengl)?
