Package: renpy
Version: 6.17.6-1.1
Severity: normal
Dear Maintainer,
Ren'Py fails to save screenshot images.
Step to reproduce:
1. Run a renpy game, for example the_question from renpy-thequestion pacakge.
Or run on third renpy game, for example Katawa Shoujo:
$ renpy '/path/to/Katawa Shoujo-linux-x86'
2. Press 's' key to take a screenshot.
3. A message "Saved screenshot as /usr/share/games/renpy/screenshot0001.png."
appear in top of screen. No output in stdout or stderr when run in terminal.
4. There is actually NO screenshot0001.png saved in /usr/share/games/renpy/.
If change permission of /usr/share/games/renpy/ to drwxrwxrwx, screenshot image
will be saved.
It seems due to that renpy save screenshots into the directory contained
renpy.py**, which in Debian is /usr/share/games/renpy/ and normal user can
not write files into there.
Best regards,
Roy Clark

The save location for screenshots has now been standardized. It is now
the directory containing the executable used to start Ren'Py, be it a
.exe, .py, .sh, or .app. (The latter is handled specially.)
