The last upload was on January the 21st. I believe gcc 4.8 was still in
place back then.

Ok, I see. Me neither. I guess I need at least a small pointer in which
direction I have to look and access to a mips box *sigh*. Perhaps some
friendly mips porter stumbles upon this one here...
