Got you. Sorry, I'm not aware of a demo for it (There seems have to been
one, but the links are going 404)

There's a default.cfg in the rbdoom3-bfg/base folder; 
But I just tried with the original doom3 data-files.. It does not work.

no, id soft also relased the code for "original" doom3, but the forks
somwhow lost tractions. The original repository is here:
https://github.com/TTimo/doom3.gpl
Maybe I'm gonna package: https://github.com/dhewm/dhewm3
