steam regression

I did dpkg --purge spear-of-destiny-mission3-data;
and now when I run ./game-data-packager spear-of-destiny, I only get:

generated "/home/tchet/game-data-packager/spear-of-destiny-mission2-data_39_all.deb"
generated "/home/tchet/game-data-packager/spear-of-destiny-data_39_all.deb"

these are repacked from /usr/games/wolf3d
and the debug message 'possible Steam installation at %s' is never triggered.
