Hi Dan,

Sorry to hear that you haven't had a response from the maintainer.
Debian is starting the pre-release freeze, so there's unlikely to be
any update until after the release.

There's still (IIUC) time for urgent fixes until late January, but
if the current version works OK then there's probably not the
urgency.
