Oh dear, I innocently tried the logical:
$ gbp clone dg:minetest

With this other and more up to date repository, I see that the move of 
the .svg file from the minetest to the minetest-data package appears to 
have been done in commit 319831d7..., and hence was first shipped with 
0.4.14+repack-1.

I'm still pondering what Breaks/Replaces combination will do the trick 
(the relevant sections of the Debian policy seem to be 7.3 and 7.6).

Not today : my bed is calling.
