Hi,

maintainer of vcmi here. Vcmi is a free re-implementation of the Heroes
of Might and Magic III engine. I have no idea whether this kind of bug
should be filed against vcmi or against g-d-p but since I never
contributed to g-d-p myself, I will just file it here.

vcmi already comes with a script which extracts the required
(proprietary) assets from the official game CDs, GOG or the installation
directory.  It's called vcmibuilder and currently ships with the vcmi
package:

So since there is already code that's doing the right thing I suppose it
would be easy to add this to g-d-p?

Maybe this bug could even be tagged "newcomer"?
