Bug#934481: darkplaces: nexuiz freezes after a while

Package: darkplaces
Version: 0~20180908~beta1-2
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

after upgrading darkplaces to a new version, nexuiz started freezing
after some time (~10 minutes) of playing (it went to more than 10
seconds per frame). Previously it was running just fine.

My graphics is GeForce GTS450 with the nvidia binary driver 390.129.

Could this be related to the change in renderer, and how can I make it
better?

Regards
    Jiri Palecek
