Bug#931857: ioquake3: framerate/performance under wayland is poor (FPS misleading)

Package: ioquake3
Version: 1.36+u20181222.e5da13f~dfsg-2
Severity: normal

Hi,

Game performance under Wayland is much lower than under Xorg. I have FPS
displayed within the game and in both cases it reports something around
90fps at all times. But I suspect this is misleading in the Wayland case
(possibly due to off-screen rendering or buffers or something?); it
*feels* much lower. I cannot reliably hit things with the Rail gun,
whereas playing the same level/skill/#bots under Xorg is much smoother.
