Need to upgrade performous, care if I do?

Hi,
performous has a catastrophic failure for me (it crashes instead
of starting), and upstream proposed a fix which I am to test. The
problem with that is that it does not at all apply, which means
I’ll have to locally update performous first.
Mind if I do and then upload the result?
I already asked apo via IRC privmsg, but it turns out this is all
more complicated, so I’ll throw it into the larger audience first.
The debian/README.source shocked me a bit, and it turns out that
upstream split performous-tools off into a separate repository,
buildable stand-alone from the rest.
I would follow this and first package the new version of performous
itself (to scratch my own itch and test it), then (if you agree)
create a performous-tools package which Provides/Conflicts/Replaces
performous (<< the new version) and upload the two. Perhaps I’ll
also find tuits to work on performous-composer…
Feedback, agreement, disagreement, anything?
Thanks,
//mirabilos
