Bug#929513: marsshooter: Segfaults a few seconds after starting

When I start marsshooter, either from the desktop menu or command line,
it runs for a few seconds (13-18s in my tests), and then segfaults.

Before it dies it's displaying the main menu with a game demo in the
background, and playing music. I haven't spotted a pattern to when it
dies.

If I manage to start a tutorial before it segfaults, it seems I can
carry on playing that as long as I like until I go back to the main menu
(shortly after which, it will segfault). Being in the options menu, or
trying to start a new proper game, is not sufficient. (I've not
succeeded in getting past the game setup screen fast enough to see if
being in a proper game would stop the segfault.)

My screen is 1680x1050 (but it still segfaults if I'm running it in a
small window). I'm running Xfce. My graphics setup is as follows:
