Hi,

alternative, lightweighter solutions for the OSS legacy support exist
and may work, too. Let's check that!

Do you use PulseAudio (Run "pulseaudio --check || echo 'Yep'" in a
terminal if you don't know.)? In case you do, please launch the game
from a terminal with "padsp <program>" and let us know if that works as
you would expect it!

If you are not using PulseAudio, please install alsa-oss and launch the
game from a terminal with "aoss <program>" and let us know if that
works as you would expect it!

If the the LD_PRELOAD wrappers work, I'd prefer to add alternative
dependencies pulseaudio-utils || alsa-oss || osspd to go from
lightweight to heavy weight dependencies. Since osspd is a daemon, it's
started during system startup and adds something to systems' boot
times.

Cheers - Bruno
