This seems to have been new in 1.0.0.55-1, a downstream addition
(presumably by Michael Gilbert, possibly requested by someone else but the
changelog doesn't specify) rather than provided by Valve.
I don't think Steam actually has any interaction with this particular
piece of hardware, so we should probably drop it from the metainfo?
After which there would be basically nothing remaining in steam-devices'
metainfo, so the whole file could be dropped.
(Whether to add metainfo for the hardware that Steam *does* interact with
is an orthogonal question, see #1078751 for that - but in general I would
lean towards "no" for the reasons given in that bug.)
