Hi,

I'm not officially a DD but if no one else has already started on this, I
don't mind taking a crack at it.

I own a PowerMac G5 that runs 'sid' and I have access to newer POWER
hardware via the GNU Compile Farm.

Is there any interest in having an 'altivec' flavour for this package?
Similar to what 'x264' and several other packages do?
