Bug#1098985: mousetrap: desktop entry relies on PATH, but multiple programs use name in PATH

Package: mousetrap
Version: 1.0c-3
Severity: serious
Usertag: bin-games-conflict

Your package "mousetrap" installs its main program into
/usr/games/mousetrap. It also installs a .desktop file, specifying
Exec=mousetrap. Thus, it relies on "mousetrap" to be unique in the
users PATH.

This is not the case for the distribution.

The "gnome-mousetrap" package can be installed simultanesouly and
installs /usr/bin/mousetrap. Your desktop entry will thus by default
launch the "gnome-mousetrap" program instead.

It is unclear how to best resolve this. Personally, I think you
should install your program into /usr/bin, picking a new name.

See the debian-policy bug 1098948 for related discussion.
