It has already been done, at the same time than the upload fixing the current bug.

I suspect there is still a leftover "master" branch as I could not delete it from git,
the new branching scheme uses:
- debian/unstable
- upstream
- pristine-tar

Yes, it should. Anyone not allergic to GitLab Web UI should feel free to handle that.
