Looking through the debdiff, there also appears to be a new gendoc
plugin (disabled in the default build).

Even after excluding the code for the new plugins, the translations and
configure, one is left with

 177 files changed, 7360 insertions(+), 2685 deletions(-)

which I have to admit is larger than I expected.
