No problem (and sorry for poking marga the same moment you wrote this 
mail :)).
The git thingy is easy to ignore, so "we" can keep geany in git, and you 
can work as there is no git :)

I'd suggest we put "geany team" as maintainer, and you, hyperair and me 
as uploaders, so we all can create the best package :)
So this will be a friendly takeover.
