<div dir="ltr">Package: geany-plugins<br>Version: 1.23+dfsg-3<br>Severity: important<br><br>Dear Maintainer,<br><br>I installed geany-plugins and I did not see geany-pluginvc in the <br>plugin manger. <br>Hence I download the upstream package and installed it. <br>

<br>I noticed that upstream installed the plugins to:<br><br>  /usr/local/lib/geany/geanyvc.so <br><br>Whereas the debian package installed the file to <br><br>  /usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/geany/geanyvc.so <br><br>I remove the upstream package and created a link :<br>

<br>sudo ln -vs  /usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/geany/geanyvc.so<br>/usr/local/lib/geany/geanyvc.so<br><br>This made the vs plugin available. <br><br>So this issue can be relatively easily solved by:<br><br>  * Change the installed file path to the one expected by geany. <br>

    Probably violates Debian's policy.<br>  * Reconfigure geany to search for the plugin in Debian's path.<br>  * Create a link as part of the installation of the package, <br>    remove the link if the package is removed. <br>
