Hello,
I've prepared libvmime_0.9.1-4 in the past days and Guido suggested me
to announce this on the list as the zarafa packages are depending on the
package.
The last upload of libvmime was trying to solve the missed symbol file
by adding a libvmime0.symbols file. Unfortunately this is more difficult
than on plain C based libraries and is showing many build issues [1]
that preventing a transition to testing.
So I removed the symbol file again as the Lintian flag for missed symbol
file is marked as informative.
But the main change is the switch to debhelper 8 sequencing work flow,
that is increasing the readability of debian/rules and brings other
advantages like automatic setting up of variables.
The other main part are adoptions to get the bootstrap script usable
again to get the library build on newer platforms like arm64 (RC
platform) and ppc64 (non RC platform). For this there are some changes
inside configure.in and various Makefile.am files needed. The bootstrap
is running the autotool binaries and generating the configure script
finally.
The prepared branch debian/sid can be found on
https://github.com/tijuca/libvmime/commits/debian/sid
The new created Debian package is technically the same as the older one
and is working of course. Maybe someone has further suggestions?
Otherwise I would push these changes to Alioth at the end of the week so
Guido (after vacation) or Christoph can make upload in a few days.
