with two small changes (drop the exp2 changelog entry and respective
change in NEWS) I have placed your work on top of the existing tree and
uploaded a version 2.3.7-1 for experimental to NEW.

I dropped also a recent update from Z-Push. :-)

So now we can just mostly wait to see z-push hopefully accepted into
