the upstream release version 8.7.1 was already out there while the
Debian Buster release was in the hard freeze.

The modification within that release are quite more than a fixup
release, at least from a POV of the Debian Release Managers and they are
right.

So we can not simply package version 8.7.1 and ask the release team to
include this new version within the next point release.

We've tried to cherry pick some upstream commits that are relevant to
fix up important issues like this one, but we failed to glue this all
correctly together. Without some preparations from Kopano we can't fix
this.
Unfortunately upstream has some different view on this and our main
contact person until 8.7.0 within Kopano isn't available any more. It's
a bit difficult now.
We will try to get some help from Kopano.

We want to provide at some day some backported versions of recent
releases but this costs time, knowledge, testing and of course energy.

So for now there isn't much we can do about this.
