After I completed my migration of my mails and the attachments to my Debian 10 system with Kopano 8.7.0-3 my last step was
to get z-push working. 
After a few hours kopano-server produced 1.xx load and filled my z-push errorlog faster than I could read.

I searched for this warning and I found a post at the kopano forums:

It happens faster on bigger stores than on smaller ones or on clients who use the calendar excessively.

They only got it reliably working when they switched from mariadb to mysql, because kopano has some issues with the mariadb version shipped by debian.
After I uninstalled mariadb and migrated my database to mysql 5.7 kopano started to behave normally again.

I had no issues of the sort in the last three weeks with kopano + mysql.
