there's a part of a screenshot, with some non-begnign images removed,
already attached to the bug.


A way to reproduce this bug is as follows:

$ cd /some/dir/with/only/images
$ display &

Now, display opens, and opens a "file open" dialog, too. Click
"Cancel" in that dialog, and then left-click on the ImageMagick splash
image to bring up a separate window with the menu. Under "File", you
find "Visual Directory". Click that, and don't specify a filter. Just
click "Directory", and wait until the operation completes.

Attached, you find five images detailing the process. An arrow means:
Click there.
