With imagemagick 7:6.5.7.7-1 and libmagick* 7:6.5.5.3-1 I get

$display a.png
display: symbol lookup error: display: undefined symbol: MagickCommandGenesis

upgrading libmagick* to 7:6.5.7.7-1 fixed the problem.
Should imagemagick have a versioned dependency on its libraries?
