The patch does not have any effect with ImageMagick 6.7.4.
I can see that with the following commands.

The latest version for which the fvwm patch fixes the problem:

# dpkg -i \

  /var/cache/apt/archives/libmagickcore4-extra_8%3a6.6.9.7-7_amd64.deb \
  /var/cache/apt/archives/libmagickwand4_8%3a6.6.9.7-7_amd64.deb

As of this version, the patch no longer fixes the problem:

Is it still a fvwm bug or has another bug been introduced in
ImageMagick 6.7.4?
