Hi Josch:

This is a really old bug, but I just proved it continues to exist for Debian Stable with
the attached "test.svg" SVG file.

If you use pqiv to view this file, the result is a nice graphics plot
with horizontal text title at the top and graphics elements
underneath.  And similarly with display *if inkscape is installed".
If inkscape is purged, "pqiv test.svg" still works as before,
but "display test.svg" silently displays just the horizontal title
without the graphics elements.

Or in other words, inkscape is essential for viewing this SVG file with
the imagemagick display app.

Do you confirm this same issue for Unstable, and if so shouldn't the
following

irwin at merlin> dpkg --status libmagickcore-6.q16-6-extra |grep -i inkscape
Suggests: inkscape

be changed to

"Recommends: inkscape"?

That small packaging change is all that is required to fix this dependency bug (if your above test
shows this bug continues to persist in Unstable).
