Hi,

Metacity always focusses new windows. This is incredibly annoying when
an apps popups a window on a non-user event.

This happens to me in the following cases:

  * Gabber pops up a chat window when i receive a message, so then i'm
suddenly sending them whatever i was typing at that moment

  * Gnomemeeting pops up a connect dialog when someone calls. So when
i'm typing and this happens, i'm suddenly connecting to someone :(

    Sjoerd

The upstream bug is closed, and metacity has a
"/apps/metacity/general/auto_raise" gconf key. It seems that bug is
fixed, I'm closing it.
