Hi,
I found out that Nautilus gets confused by some file alteration events. If =
I open an archive with file-roller, then I visit two or more files containe=
d within the archive (for instance, two plain text files) using the "View a=
rchive" context-menu option, which launches Nautilus' viewer, then I close =
one of the viewer windows, then after a few seconds the contents of the oth=
er window disappear. The file pointed at by the Location bar exists, and if=
I try twice to reload the file it reappears. Did I say twice? Yes, because=
the first time I get the following message, independently of whether I cli=
ck the "Refresh" button or hit the enter key on the Location bar:
[oh, well, that just crashed Nautilus after 3 or 4 "successful" tries, let =
me try again...]
"The Texto view encountered an error and can't continue. You can choose ano=
ther view or go to a different location." [sic -- Texto? that's Spanish for=
"Text." I use a Spanish locale (es_AR), after all...]
For the record, file-roller opens each file to a different directory, so ea=
ch viewer is visiting a different file, with a different name and on a diff=
erent path (eg. /tmp/file-roller.9457.7/readme.txt and /tmp/file-roller.945=
7.8/license.txt).
Also, I'm using version 2.7.0-5 of the fam and libfam0c102 packages.
Greetings,
