Bug#241724: gnome-settings-daemon shows no wallpapers, only colors

When I restarted X today, the gnome-settings-daemon didn't restore my
wallpaper.  I attempted to set new wallpaper with gnome-control-center,
but nothing doing.  All I get is the background color.
