ok, then the parameters of the calls in gnomemeeting are correct. This
verifies that the crash occurs in ALSA.

That's a result of the crash.

ALSA is using the "plug" plugin with special params (frequency,
bits, ...)
snd_pcm_readi is the function called by GM. The rest is called by ALSA
itself. I suggest that bug is reported to the ALSA team."
I'm thus moving this bug to alsa-driver.
