The failure mode is different now:
+---------------+--------------------------------------------+
|Server Config |Nautilus Behavior |
+---------------+--------------------------------------------+
|https + DAV |hangs |
+---------------+--------------------------------------------+
|https |"Application nautilus-text-view has crashed |
| |due to a fatal error" |
+---------------+--------------------------------------------+
|http + DAV |works perfectly |
+---------------+--------------------------------------------+
|http |displays the html source of the index page |
+---------------+--------------------------------------------+
I'm not sure why the view should matter. When using DAV it should
display icons & filenames like any other directory. When DAV is not
enabled on the server it seems to be using Text view. When DAV and SSL
are both turned off I can use the View menu to select GtkHTML and it
displays the rendered version of the index page rather than the html source.

Are you still having this bug ? Could you provide more information ?
- Does nautilus crash on https websites or just with DAV ?
