This is reproducible on i386; the relevant part of config.log is
	configure:25015: i386-linux-gcc -o conftest -g -O2 -Wall   conftest.c -lXt >&5
	configure:25055:27: X11/Intrinsic.h: No such file or directory
	configure: In function `main':
	configure:25059: warning: implicit declaration of function `XtMalloc'
	configure:25018: $? = 1

/usr/X11R6/include/X11/Intrinsic.h is in libxt-dev. After installing
libxt-dev, the build goes through configure without hickups.
