Is it possible for you to retest this upgrade path? If so, it would be quite
useful to know whether a change of Dpkg::MaxArgBytes is really necessary, or
whether it's sufficient to just upgrade to sarge's apt first thing.

The only documentation I'm aware of is http://bugs.debian.org/172339 and the
apt sources.

I agree. There doesn't seem to be a specfic (pseudo)package in the BTS for
the release notes yet; "upgrade-reports" seems somewhat appropriate though.
