Package: rhythmbox
Version: 0.8.5-1
Severity: important

Since rebooting this morning, Rhythmbox has ceased to function normally. With every library song or every radio
station, playback stutters and skips continuously like if I was playing it on fast-forward.

I suspect recent cleanups of GNOME packages, Gstreamer or Esound (in preparation of Sarge release and following
dh_gconf changes) to be at cause, but I have no idea how to isolate which one is at cause.

In any case, this prevents me from using Rhythmbox, so I consider this serious.

As I expected, Rhythmbox itself is not the problem.

Downgrading Esound components to 0.2.29-1 (Testing) solved this bug.

Special care should be taken to ensure that newer Esound version will NOT b=
e
allowed to enter Testing. If necessary, it should be blacklisted.
