When I run the Users and Groups dialog, I type my root password, press=20
OK and the program crashes with this error message:
There was an error running the backend script, and the configuration=20
could no be loaded.

This bug was eliminated in newer releases of Gnome --now I am using 
Gnome 2.6.1, Debian distributor, build date 05/26/2004.
