Finally got some time to look at SJ bugs...
Summary of the issue:
1) files with non-ASCII characters are crashing SJ/not being written to
disk
2) with G_BROKEN_FILENAMES set some UI elements are incorrectly
displayed
(1) is often due to the filesystem you are writing to -- often this
happens when the user is writing to a FAT32 partition. What filesystem
are you writing to?
(2) is a trivial bug which needs to be fixed. Can you list some of the
interface elements which don't display correctly?
