Bug#257821: Lightweight SVG capable packages impossible

What is the status of this bug?
Dependency on the Gnome VFS renders the package "idesk" ad absurdum. 
Idesk is designed as a lightweight desktop application, however its 
dependency on librsvg pulls in most of the Gnome stuff which definitely 
isn't lightweight.

This dependency also makes it impossible to install the 
gtk2-engines-spherecrystal theme without installing Gnome (the theme 
itself makes perfect sense with Gtk2 only).
