I just checked again and it works wor me.

Which kernel versions are you two running? To make sure, please try a
stock Debian kernel. What about running without experimental packages?
Since it works even for Tommi on his laptop, I guess there must be some
difference in the environment. Are there any dia related
packages/programs/installations that confuse dia (because of the
dia-python hint in the WARNING.)?
