Bug#287120: gnome-panel: "Run Application" freezes momentarily before typing

When open the "Run Application" applet, the applet hangs for a few 
seconds before I can start typing.  It can take anywhere between 2-20 
seconds before it allows control.  This usually happens after a period 
of idle time.

Steps to reproduce:
1.  Wait a while
2.  Click "Run Application"
3.  Type a command

It looks like they have a couple patches available upstream.  It would 
be nice to have this fixed in the debian packages.
