You have a commit right on the pkg-gnome projet so no problem (no need
to be an official DD). 

For the details reading /usr/share/doc/gnome-pkg-tools/README.Debian.gz
should be enough ... but if it's not, just ask.

(I've already mailed that to Emil who has asked some times ago).
