The new version of Totem that appeared in unstable right after GNOME 2.6 crashes systematicly whenever starting 
playback of an MPEG movie that used to work on previous Totem versions.  That crash takes X down with it!

I tried looking in gnome's error log but it only says that a bunch of applications lost their connection to X, which 
is obviously useless.

This bug was due to xfree and is fixed now, I'm closing it. Feel free to
reopen it if the problem is still here.
