Bug#257456: gconf2: gconftool-2 --makefile-install-rule hangs while installing packages

Justification: renders package unusable

I installed my system from scratch using install floppies so it should
be clean. When a package needs gconftool-2 in a postinst script, gconftool-2 
hangs using all cpu time.
